Character Background and Description
Danilo Rodriguez tried his hand any many jobs after he was determined to be barren. Danilo found that he was best suited for work in construction. Therefore he eventually ended up working in the Penance Gravel Mines as a crane operator. Danilo worked diligently and was promoted to an overseer after a few years. He has been put in charge of assigning workers to different tasks inside the mines. There is a bit of stigma surrounding the prisoners brought in to supplement the work of professional miners. However, Danilo is focused purely on productivity and does not pass judgement on his workers so long as they work hard.

Danilo likes to know his workers on a personal level so he can decide where best to place them in the mines, and who they will work best with. Additionally, Danilo is never afraid to get his hands dirty and show the workers how to get the job done. Through conversations with the prisoners he has found out that many of them are working in the mines for relatively insignificant crimes. This has caused a lot of internal turmoil for Danilo as he wonders about the government in Phanes Bay. Danilo's only family is his brother Hector who works in the city as a building inspector to keep important buildings from crumbling. Danilo often thinks about his brother and wonders if the treatment of the barren in Phanes Bay has worsened since he was last in the city. Danilo wonders about this because recently he has noticed a sharp increase in prisoner intake. Danilo plans on saving enough money from work to go back to Phanes Bay and see his brother again.
